In October 2019 I created one of the most over-thought approaches to something in, well, my lifetime at least. I must’ve been bored out of my gourd because I created a ‘resume versioning system’ — and its decoder ring equivalent, a version conversion utility.
- The version conversion utility is available (with instructions) on CodePen: https://codepen.io/KeithDC/pen/pooNjbm
tl;dr: Every resume and productivity chart get a version ID that correlates to the day they were updated. Both can be updated on the same day and given the same ID, or separately. Each ID can be entered into the version conversion utility to reveal the date the document with that ID was updated.
For example: The cgzzq ID was added to my latest productivity chart, which translates to 2026-09-04.
Why not just use a serial counter: 000001 — or (stay with me here)… the date? 👀
That is a very, very good question. 😅
